The tide has wrapped its flat body on its bed and it is so weary, this tide, for it holds itself high and full-brimmed though the whole day and night, drooling on the grey banks and rubbing its belly on the beach; it has spent so long dragging at the sea and now it sleeps, yes, it sleeps with a steady slow breathing, in and out.
